The book of Hebrews is about the superiority of Jesus Christ. It was written to warn early believers from drifting away from faith. To know God, look at Jesus.

Hebrews 1:4-2:9. Jesus is superior to the angels. The author of Hebrews gives the first warning of drifting to the Jewish believers in Hebrews.

Hebrews 2:14-3:15. Satan’s only power is the fear of death, but Jesus took care of spiritual death. We can trust God. God takes it personally when we do not trust His people who are led by God (Moses, Koran, Saul/Paul).

The Word of God is a “now” word. In a time of testing, we can rest, if we do not get into unbelief, which blocks the promises.

Christ is our High Priest. Just like Jesus, it takes strength to submit. Do not let pride and fear keep you from submitting. Ask the Lord first when you do not understand something.

Those in the “Hall of Faith” in Hebrews 11 did not see the fulfillment of what God had promised. We have faith in the One who gives the promises. What are the promises He has given to me?

Hebrews 11:23-30. Faith is how the New and Old Covenant work. Moses had to make a choice, and it involved suffering. There is household faith and personal faith. There is a reward for suffering for Christ. Faith is measured by obedience, trust and endurance in God’s purposes.

Hebrews 12:1-2. Who are the witnesses and what are the hindrances? Keep your eyes on Jesus, and run your race with endurance.

The cure for weariness is to keep your eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-17. Suffering is doing God’s will, not your own. Run like Jesus, and don’t stir up strife. Don’t let go of your spiritual faith.

In the old covenant Moses was the mediator between man and God, and it was a scary thing. In the new covenant, Jesus is our mediator, and we can come into His throne room boldly.

Hebrews 13:1-3. Jesus teaches us to love one another in the family of God and prefer others above yourself.

Pastor Syd shared testimonies of God’s faithfulness in finances. He taught on Hebrews 13:4-17 about honor, money, what is important to God, and faithfulness to Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 13:15-25. The wealth that God gives you is for you to do good, be generous, and share. God’s shepherds guard, tend, and are examples to their people. It is God’s church. Pray and support your spiritual leaders.
