How to Be Broken From Gravity and Reach Heaven

Saturday October 26, 2013
Listen

(A word was given after praise and worship.) There is spiritual gravitation. Before a plane can take off, there is preparation, such as acceleration and an increase of pressure under the small wings to bring lift to the plane. 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 says about turning from idols to serve God and to wait for His Son from heaven. Find your place where you can minister to God, and then wait for God. Waiting for God is like expecting and preparing for a guest. You do what you can to make it possible for him to come. You should be in expectation of heaven. There is a way to take off. We don’t know how long we will have to wait. Heaven is drawing us. Col. 3:1-4 reminds us to set our minds on things above. When Jesus appears, then we will appear with Him in glory. Our actions should keep in mind that one day we will be with God. Seek Him and keep your focus on heaven. Phil. 3:18-20 tells of people who think about earthly things, whereas our citizenship is in heaven. What are you thinking about when you first awake? What do you think about most of the time? Where is your heart? Look to heaven. The disciples thought Jesus was bringing an earthly kingdom and responded that way on the Mount of Transfiguration. When we meet with God and are filled with the Holy Spirit, we taste heaven. Jesus did everything for us to be able to take off. God increases the pressure “under our wings” so that we are pushed up. We don’t know how long our runway will be. Jesus will come for those who expect and have their focus on heaven. The Spirit and the Bride are calling us to come. We may have to suffer and pay a price, because earth pulls us down. Given thanks to God, stick together, and have fellowship with and help one another.

Know God

Sunday February 20, 2011
Listen

Offering message: God meets all your needs. You get to choose what is your need. II Cor. 9:6 and 7 teaches us about the generous and the cheerful sower. The offering went to Alexy’s ministry and orphanage in Ukraine. Several pictures from his orphanage were shown during the offering. SERMON- Do you need more faith? Start with the Word of God. Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus includes a powerful prayer that we should pray, too (Ephesians 1: 12-19). Pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. We need to be dissatisfied with where we are. Is knowing God a priority in your life? We’re called to know God and to grow in the knowledge of Him. God raised Gideon up to be who God said he was. God loves us and the sinner. This world needs the power of God, and we need to be His mouthpieces for the Gospel. The riches of the glory of His inheritance is for when we go to heaven, but it is also for now. Pray for more than what you have presently.

Who Will Ascend into the Hill of the Lord

Sunday July 11, 2010
Listen

Pastor Alexey from Ukraine preaches in Russian as Alex Mirsaidov translates into English on Ps. 24:1-5. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord, or who shall stand in His holy place? It is those who have clean hands and a pure heart. They shall receive the blessing from the Lord and His righteousness. When Moses was at Mt. Sinai, the people could not go to the mountain. In Ex. 24 Moses and the elders could go to God on the mountain, where he received a blessing. Moses could hear and see God more clearly than anyone else, because of his relationship with God on the mountain. He could see the Ten Commandments being written by God, and he saw God’s glory. He was in God’s presence and his face shone. When we are in God’s glory and presence, we are changed. The selected disciples who went with Jesus to the Mount of Transfiguration believed who He was when they saw His glory from the presence of God. Do you want to ascend the mountain? The veil is torn, so we can approach His presence. You decide. One word, one time of meeting with God can change your life. The conditions are: relationship with Him, pure hands, pure heart, asking, seeking, knocking, climbing to the mountain, repenting, sincerely asking forgiveness, being in peace with others. It takes effort to be in fellowship with God and sometimes we must wait, like Moses being on the mountain 40 days waiting and like the disciples waiting in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit. Part of the mountain is here in this church. The summit is eternal, and there are many summits. People have been willing to die for Jesus because they heard a word from God.
