We exist to expand God’s kingdom, transform lives,
equip believers, and mobilize the Church to fulfill His divine purpose on earth.
Fueled by our love for God and His calling, we fulfill the Great Commission through weekly Spirit-led gatherings, prayer, teaching, worship, home groups, outreach, church planting, and the global expansion of God’s kingdom.
We embrace the T.E.A.M. model to fulfill our mission.
We are called to transform lives through:
God equips us through the Body of Christ—our church family—creating an environment where we grow and fulfill His will. We receive training through:
As a church family, we are committed to accountability:
We refuse to stand still—every believer is called and empowered to make an impact in the local church and beyond.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation of our faith. There is one true God—revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who calls all people to salvation through Jesus Christ alone. As His Church, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live in righteousness, share the Good News, walk in His promises, and continue the ministry of Jesus.
Our Statement of FaithAfter a life-changing encounter with God, Sydney and Jennifer Ropp relocated to Pennsylvania to serve at Church of the Word International. Today, Sydney leads the church, and Jennifer supports various ministries. They are dedicated to sharing the Gospel with their community.
Meet Our PastorsIt all began in 2006. On May 28th, my wife Teri and I joined three other couples in a home in Lancaster, PA to pray. The Holy Spirit moved so powerfully in that small gathering that I told our host, “something was born in the Spirit tonight.” We all decided to meet again the following Sunday night for another prayer session. The next week, dozens more attended, and we continued to pray and seek the Lord’s presence. I was amazed at how the word spread and how many eager hearts came. In no time, we had outgrown a large home. Following the Lord’s guidance, we held our first service the next week, on June 11, with over a hundred people present. The weeks that followed were crucial to everything the Lord has accomplished and is still doing through Church of the Word. I encourage you to enjoy these messages, as vital now as they were then: The Gospel is the Power of God, part one, The Gospel is the Power of God, part two, The Gospel is the Power of God, part three.
