Focus On Jesus

Wednesday February 2, 2011

God loves us and gives us the free-will to choose or reject Him. We have the choice to choose life. God did it all, and now it’s up to us to choose. He not only tells us what we should do, but He shows us how to do it. People are watching you as a Christian. Heb. 12:1-3 tells us that it’s our job to lay aside the weights and sins and that it’s easy for sin to come at us. It also tells us to focus on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus is our example. He endured for us and our salvation and so that people would have a choice for life. Matt. 6:22 The light of the body is the eye. Prov. 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle (light, lamp) of the Lord. The Greek word is the same for lamp, light, and candle. If your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. Matt. 6:23 If your focus is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. Matt. 6:24 You can’t serve the world (money) and God. Don’t let money be your focus. Your focus determines who you will serve. I Cor. 2:12 We have received the Spirit of God. You can lose your salvation if you get your focus off Jesus. Eph. 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are in the light of the Lord. Walk as children of light. Repent and turn your focus to Christ. Choose life, focus on Him, and He will bring direction to your life, and it will be possible to cast your cares on Him. Where is your focus?
