What are the characteristics of a disciple? Are you one? Beyond evangelizing, we are to make disciples. Listen to this sermon about being disciples and discipleship.
Jesus was a world-changer by discipling 12 men. The power of the Gospel is that we can be “little Christs”, reproductions of Jesus Christ. Are you going to continue in the Word of God? Are you putting God’s Word into you so that you are changed, transformed from glory to glory? Are you becoming like Jesus? Is the truth of the Word making you free from whatever has kept you in bondage? Pastor Dale preaches from Matt. 7:24-29; Matt. 10:24; John 8:31; Acts 20:32; I Thess. 2:13; II Cor. 3:17, 18.
Discipleship means we put our confidence only in Jesus Christ, loving and being in fellowship Him. Following Jesus means leaving behind anything in the flesh that you had confidence in before you gave your life to Him.
Continuing in God’s Word is what makes us disciples- John 8:31-32. Are all Christians set free? Why are there grave clothes on many Christians? Luke 9:23- Find out what “die to self” and take up your cross daily” really mean. What changed in the scriptures after Jesus went to the cross? What’s the difference between a heart and a flesh problem? Once you’re born-again and have a new “self”, you don’t deny yourself in Christ. Do you have a revelation of what sin is and what it does to our relationship with our Father? What motivates you- the law or the lawgiver (God)? Do you seek victory or obedience? What does it mean to be established in grace? How do we offend God? Do we abuse Him? Look to Jesus and see His glory.
