- We Are Writing History and Have The Sense of a Bug
-
Ed Black
- Armada Landmark 2010
- We are helping to write history when we do what God has called us to do. We are a part of history for a city, church, people, nation. (II Thess. 2:7) We have a restraining order on Satan. Do God’s will, step into your position, and write some history.
Part II "Have the Sense of a Bug and Come to the Light"
I John 1:5 tells us that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. Ed Black shares an experience of preaching in Cameroon, Africa under a roof with only four lights. The light above him attracted great numbers of bugs, which surrounded his face and Bible, making it difficult to see or talk. People are attracted to light, just like bugs are, and we are to be children of light and are to demonstrate the light. How does God draw people to Him? One way is through signs: Moses and the burning bush and then the rod and later the ten plagues. In I Kings 18 God showed a sign through Elijah to Ahab and Jezebel. God used signs to get a person’s attention, then a group of unbelievers’ attention, and then a nation’s attention. Other signs were used as witnesses for people to be drawn to the light in Luke 2:12; Matt. 12:38, 39; Acts 2:19. He wants to make His plan known to us on earth. God is looking for us to move and to demonstrate the signs on earth, so that people can come to the light. Jesus also used signs, wonders, and miracles to show God’s love. Get off your seat, onto your feet, and into the street. The presence and power of God is dependent on us. God loves people, and we have His nature. Be a light bulb, turned on and shining.

- Qualifying Factors to Lead
-
Ed Black
- Armada Landmark 2010
- What are the qualifying factors for you to lead others? Why should you be honored and followed? #1 You, as a leader, should not compare yourself with other leaders, but should ask yourself if you are obeying the voice of the Lord. We are living stones (I Peter 2:4,5) and are being fitted together to build the fleet of ships of Armada. We are not bricks, all the same size and shape.
#2 Guard yourselves against sin. Gal. 5:9 indicates that it takes only a little leaven to leaven a whole loaf. Leaven can refer to sin. A little sin affects a lot of people, and once it’s released it’s easier for it to be released over and over. If you are alone, you can get off the mark. Request accountability. #3 Take responsibility for your actions. Phil. 3:12-15. Press toward the goal, regardless of what others do to you.
#4 Put the Word in your mouth and declare it. The Word is in us, is a two-edged sword, and is the construction tool of the builder.
